Ena Shaw Contract has built strong relationships in the social housing and private rented sectors, and operates across a wide variety of properties to provide bespoke, made-to-measure curtains, blinds and soft furnishings. Working on behalf of primary suppliers to the social housing sector and acting as their specialist in-house soft furnishings advisor, the team supplies a number of local authorities and councils with custom requirements for curtains, blinds, tracking systems and soft furnishings.
Our team is sensitive to the special requirements of this sector and understands the confidential nature of some facilities, working closely with facilities management and providing a rapid response service to support their activities.
Sitting on the fringe of Manchester city centre, Pomona Wharf is a high-rise development based on Pomona Island, with stunning views of the city’s skyline and River Irwell. The contemporary, purpose-built scheme features 160 one and two-bedroomed apartments.
Ena Shaw Contract was appointed to lend its expertise to the manufacturing and fitting of curtains throughout. The team worked with the development’s project manager to create a sophisticated look that would resonate with young professionals making Pomona Wharf their home.
Working in partnership with Countrywide, Ena Shaw Contact was selected to manufacture and install bespoke curtains for a range of one, two and three-bedroom apartments in The Cargo Building, located in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle and opposite the Albert Dock. The specialist team worked closely with Countrywide to select a neutral and contemporary colour scheme that could be easily personalised. For example, blackout curtains and voiles in ‘natural’ and ‘pewter’ colours provided privacy for each of the 324 modern apartments.
Ena Shaw Contract was praised for its speed and flexibility when faced with tight deadlines, and its efficient handling of the project, resulting in it being delivered on time and within budget.
After a competitive international tender, Ena Shaw Contract was selected by LOCOG to exclusively supply and fit all the Olympic Village’s rooms with curtains and tracks ahead of the Olympic Games in 2012. Following the success of the project, Get Living London issued a tender to convert the village in Stratford into domestic accommodation, now named East Village: ‘London’s Hippest Postcode’.
Ena Shaw Contract won the tender to refurbish the rooms and completed all 2,700 apartments. The survey and fitting teams were on site for 10 months to fit curtains, blinds and tracks. The teams have since been commended for flexibility, rapid response and the ability to cope with any demand.
